Meet Deepc Divers

DeepC Divers, a Massachusetts-based rock band, offers a musical experience that resonates deep within the heart. Their unique sound is a fusion of alternative and classic rock, sprinkled with elements of funk and reggae, all skillfully balanced with a pop sensibility. Their music captures the essence of genuine emotion, making their melodic hooks impossible to resist..

Currently the band has a revolving rhythm section both on recordings and live performances.

Deep Chinappa’s s musical odyssey is an impassioned voyage through a vast sea of sound. He is not merely a musician; he is the fiery lead singer, the soulful songwriter, the prolific composer, the rhythmic guitarist, and, when the moment calls for it, the masterful percussionist. His fervor for music knows no bounds. It's a quest where every note is an expression of his soul's deepest yearnings. It's an exploration that fuses the echoes of his Indian heritage with the spirited influences of Western pop, rock, metal, alternative, soul, R&B, folk, jazz, Latin, funk, and Afro-beat spanning from the 60s to the 90s. Before embarking on this solo endeavor, Deep Chinappa stood at the helm of rock bands. "The Unknowns" from 1989 to 1992 in Bangalore, South India while he attended St. Joseph’s college of Arts and Science, Bangalore, India majoring in Science and came to the US to attend Berklee briefly and joined "Sift" from 1996 to 1999 in America, where their musical journey resulted in an EP and the album "Yellow." But in 1999, after parting ways with "Sift," he set out on a different path, embracing open mics and wielding the guitar with fervor. It was a transformative period in the vibrant musical landscape of Boston. Here, he submerged himself in the rich tapestry of songwriting, where he uncovered his own, one-of-a-kind style. This chapter was his rebirth, an awakening of his singing, songwriting, composing, and arranging talents. Deep Chinappa's heartstrings resonate with his connection to youth with disabilities through the world of creative arts. The experience has added a flame to his unique artistry. Over the years, it has fueled the creation of a continual stream of more than a hundred and fifty songs. These songs are a testament to his audacious spirit, exploring uncharted territory through alternative tunings, innovative chord structures, and crafting robust, extraordinary melodies, rhythms, and dynamically rich arrangements. His musical journey is more than a career; it's a boundless, passionate love affair with the power of music, and it continues to evolve with every resonating note

Deep and Paul are founders of the band DeepC Divers.

DeepC has recorded 3 Solo albums, and you can find his solo work on Spotify and Apple Music.

Paul Erlich plays lead guitar and is an occasional keyboardist.

Interested in playing and understanding all styles of music, Paul's excellent ear has led him to specialize in improvisation. He draws inspiration from the classical music he was raised with, the Beatles and classic rock tunes he listened for on the radio, the Indian music he has grown to love, and the jazz he likes to check out in and around his current hometown of Boston.

Paul has performed and recorded solo and with diverse acts such as Alien Skin, Board of Education, Copal, Form of Funk, Four Elements, Katrin Roush, Kevin So, Stretch, and Deep Chinappa, in locales from Vermont to Texas to Walla Walla, Washington.

John Bordage plays the drums.

John was born in Maine, but picked up the drums when he moved to San Diego in the late 80s, after which he played in a number bands ranging in styles from alternative rock, surf, classic rock and folk/blues roots music.

He has lived in Boston since 2012, playing in the folk-rock group The Grass Gypsies and a variety of other rock, folk, and world music projects before joining Deep C Divers.

He is always seeking new musical challenges, including current work in the rock and country genres.
